2009 Livestrong Challenge Hercules Fitness Cycling Team Members completed the LiveStrong Challenge! I hope you enjoyed not just today's ride, but the whole experience leading up to it. I hope you found it as gratifying as I did. Even though mechanical problems kept a couple riders from completing all 50-miles, all of you are to be saluted for taking on the challenge and, more importantly, for selflessly giving your time and effort to such an worthwhile cause. Congratulations to every one for going above and beyond the fundraising goals. I wasn't sure we'd hit the ambitious goal of $7,500, but at last count, our team had collected just shy of $8,000! Awesome! Special recognition to Cheryl Bryan and Ed Sharp, who each raised over $1,000 -- well done! I also want to thank Elizabeth Parson and Hercules Fitness for initiating this fundraising effort and enthusiastically supporting the team--especially for our very cool jerseys, which not only stood out and made it easy to find one another today, but were about the coolest looking jerseys out on the course today. And thanks to Paul Anderson and his wife, who generously provided Clif bars and Shot Blox to keep us energized. We still have plenty left over, so if you're going to keep riding (and I hope you do), ask at the Hercules Fitness front desk for some Clif fuel. It's been a pleasure riding with all of you; everyone had such a great upbeat attitude. I hope we have the chance to ride again in the not-too-distant future. Besides, we've got those great looking jerseys now; wearing them just once would be a shame. Take care, keep riding, and LIVE STRONG! |
